When having something like \text{acl_dst} then this will be rendered in Mathjax 2 and Mathjax 3 as acl_dst though in LaTex and in Mathjax 4 this will, correctly, throw an error.
In LaTeX and Mathjax 4 one has to write \text{acl\_dst} to get the correct result.

The question is is there a way in Mathjax 4 so that, non-escaped, underscores in will not throw an error?
(background creating documentation from an existing code base where there is no influence on the code by me).

Albert

Albert:

Please see the "What's New in v4.0" section on "Textmacros on by default" that includes a configuration that will disable the textmacros package, returning MathJax v4 to the v3 behavior.
