Hi!

first of all, I have to say that MathJax is absolutely great, I love it!

Furthermore, I would like to ask on how it's possible to use MathJax in node.js. I want to build an app which takes inline TeX equations and outputs MathML equations. A tutorial on how to do this in a browser would be great, first.

As far as I have seen, I need the input and output modules. But how do I connect them?

Thanks in advance for any help!
Sebastian

hi sebastion,

i have the same interest ... ideally i'd like to use mathjax server-side with a specialized nodejs server
and/or a redmine plugin to generate a pdf and/or epub doc.

any help here?

cheers,

Hi,

MathJax currently requires the DOM to work. We plan to isolate the MathML and SVG generation in the future, but for now you'll need some way of providing a DOM.

People have had good experiences with phantomjs (e.g. https://github.com/gwicke/mathoid) and we've also seen reports of using jsdom successfully.

Regards,
Peter.

Somebody recently pointed me to this outdated thread.

So for others who stumble upon it: we've since created https://github.com/mathjax/MathJax-node which enables MathJax in nodejs (no phantomjs, htmlunit etc required).
