I am trying to test the MathJax Wordpress plugin for use with my math
blog, and I hope someone here can suggest the reason that it doesn't
work.

My setup:
- Windows 7/ Firefox 3.6.11

- MathJax is installed in directory
wp-content/plugins/mathjax-latex/MathJax

- The test pages that come with MathJax display perfectly - I get the
"MathJax Appears to be Working!" message using URL
http://brightstartutors.com/blog/wp-content/plugins/mathjax-latex/MathJax/test/index.html

- In my Wordpress test blog post, equations are entered as
[latex syntax=”display”] ... [/latex]
and the first line of the file is [mathjax]

However, with this Wordpress test blog, the equations are rendered as
graphics files. In fact, if I disable the plugin I have been using for
math, "wp-latex", the equations don't show up at all! Why would there
be any interaction between the plugins mathjax and wp-latex?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't know if you are still experiencing this problem, but on my
blog (useragentman.com), I have my blog installed in the /blog
directory. It turns out that the mathjax must be installed in a
subdirectory of /blog otherwise the fonts will not load in the page.

Thanks for your response, and that probably explains the trouble I was having.

I actually got MathJax working with WordPress without using a plugin - I used the directions on the MathJax project page at http://www.mathjax.org/docs/platforms/wordpress.html

However, one is less likely to break something by using a plugin. I will try it again.
