I added MathJax.js to my <manifest> in the opx file as follows:
<item id="mathjax" href="mathjax/MathJax.js" media-type="text/javascript"></item>
I then tried to test the output by adding sample syntax for fractions in my preface.html:
<tr>
<td>$\frac{1}{2}$</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>$$x+1\over\sqrt{1-x^2}\label{ref1}$$ with a reference to ref1:
\ref{ref1}</td>
</tr>
When i 'run' the epub on firefox, i saw the small grey box on the lower left corner of the browser stating that it is loading but nothing happens. The fraction does not parse. What could i be doing wrong?
Thank in advance.

Actually they're just simple fractions for primary school students. They're currently in Google Book Store:
Published:
Primary 6 Untangled: Heuristics: Tabulating Quantity of Items x Value of Items
https://play.google.com/store/books/details?id=uiPXAgAAQBAJ
Currently being reviewed by Google:
Primary 5 Untangled: Heuristics: Tabulating Quantity of Items x Value of Items
Primary 4 Untangled: Heuristics: Tabulating Quantity of Items x Value of Items
Primary 3 Untangled: Heuristics: Tabulating Quantity of Items x Value of Items
There's only very little fraction at the moment but based on the publishing program, more will need to be published. As you can see from the Primary 6 Untangled: Heuristics: Tabulating Quantity of Items x Value of Items, we play very heavily on typeface. I was hoping to use epub3 for fonts (.otf format) support as well as javascript to implement animations for the upcoming SOLUTIONS Series, as well as parsing of fractions.
I cannot afford for users to download the copy as well since many 'pirates' are known to copy off contents and distribute hardcopies.
So yeah i guess i'll just have to stick to PDF for now :(
