Dear Colleague,

I am writing to let you know about our conference on “Maternal-Fetal Crosstalk: Harmony vs. Conflict” to be held October 4-8, 2017 in Washington, DC. This is part of the Keystone Symposia Global Health Series, supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and will be held in conjunction with their Grand Challenges conference. Global Health Travel Awards are available to cover the full cost of travel, lodging and registration for investigators from low- and middle-income countries who attend the conference. The deadline to apply for a Travel Award is now May 23, 2017.

This is the first conference Keystone Symposia will hold on this important topic. It will explore how individual but interacting physiologic drivers, including maternal and fetal genotypes, immune systems, microbiomes, metabolomes and other factors, either enhance or compromise pregnancy outcomes, and how understanding of these drivers can be applied to maximize maternal and fetal/newborn health. One session will likely be joint with the Grand Challenges attendees, which will add to the Keystone Symposia poster sessions and receptions to give participants expanded opportunities to network and collaborate.

Even if this topic is not within your area, please help us spread the word about the conference and the Travel Award opportunities by sharing this email and the conference poster/flyer with your colleagues working in this field and with medical schools and OB/GYN practitioners in your geographical region. The conference should be of interest to researchers and clinicians alike.

Travel Award applications are on our website, and the program can be reviewed at www.keystonesymposia.org/17T2. Please contact scholarships@keystonesymposia.org with any questions about the award process.

Thank you for your time and best regards,

Jane L. Peterson, Ph.D.
President and Chief Executive Officer
