reinvigorating math

Hey All! Just joined.

My son is in second grade. He's very smart, but has gross motor delays
-- long story very short: at four he was eager to learn math and could
even cross subject saying things like, "Dos Plus Dos Equals Cuatro" but
because of his other delays we didn't work with him. Now in 2nd grade
he thinks math is boring and that "he's just not the kid who can
memorize math facts." I tell him any kid who can teach himself to read
at 2 and half can learn a few math problems, but I know it would help
if I had something a little more jazzy. Any suggestions?
