Learn with Portals
http://www.learnwithportals.com/
Is anyone in this community involved with the Steam for Schools initiative that Valve software is starting? They are planning on making Portal (and I believe Portal 2) free for use in educational institutions. Additionally, there is a level editor coming out that will allow students to create their own puzzles / levels for the game. It is an exciting initiative. The system specs to run Portal are somewhat steep, but I am hoping that we will be able to utilize the tools and the software. It would be a great addition to my game design and development course and is being geared toward STEM courses. I can definitely see great application in the physics classroom.
I have been in touch with Leslie Reed at Valve (les...@valvesoftware.com). She is very excited to work with educators.
I'm interested to see how it evolves!
