The Symposium on Elementary Mathematics Teaching SEMT ‘25 will be held from August 17th - 21st, 2025, at Charles University in Prague. The conference is organized by Charles University, Faculty of Education and the symposium language is English. This will be the seventeenth conference and as usual the programme will focus on the teaching of mathematics to children within the age-range 5 to 12.

The special theme chosen for SEMT ‘25 is:‘Elementary mathematics: Building strong foundations’.

Call for papers
This is an invitation to colleagues who would wish to present their paper at the conference.

Papers may be of two types:

Research papers, which have a rigorous theoretical underpinning.
Papers from teachers and others on research/experimental work which has been done in the classroom.

All papers submitted must relate to the theme of the conference and will be reviewed by a panel of experts, provided the guidelines and timetable, as set out below, are met.
Deadlines for authorsThe full text of the papers wishing to be presented should be submitted by March 26, 2025 to rep...@semt.cz.

Papers will be submitted to referees by April 1, 2025.

Authors will receive comments not later than April 30, 2025.

Final deadline for submission of papers following any necessary modifications requested by the referees is June 1, 2025. Papers received after June 1, 2025 will not be accepted for publication.
