Natalie is a faculty member in our Department of Special Education, and she specializes in making science more accessible to blind and low-vision students. Are you considering a doctoral degree in education? Are you interested in making high school science more accessible to blind and low-vision students?
Dr. Natalie L. Shaheen is recruiting a doctoral student for the 2026–2027 academic year. The student will work on the A11y in Sci project, conducting research and creating professional development for teachers. As part of Shaheen’s Lab, the student can pursue an Ed.D in either special education or teaching and learning at Illinois State University.
The opening begins fall of 2026 and concludes spring of 2029. This 3 year graduate research assistantship includes full tuition remission and monthly stipends all year (12 months).
