The mathematics department at the University of South Carolina’s flagship in Columbia is growing. The department invites applicants for two 9-month professional-track faculty positions and two 11-month professional-track faculty positions. Specifically, the department is looking for those with course-coordination experience and expertise in introductory mathematics courses. Please see the attached job hiring descriptions.
The University of South Carolina is in the heart of downtown Columbia, South Carolina, the state capital, and serves approximately 33,000 undergraduate students and 7,000 graduate students. The math department is currently working on creating new promotional pathways for professional-track faculty, as required by a recent faculty senate resolution.The Mathematics Department (http://www.math.sc.edu/) currently has 32 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 14 professional-track faculty, 57 graduate students, 112 majors, and 54 minors. The department has an onsite tutoring center, coordinated introductory courses, and undergraduate supplemental instruction for introductory courses. It also has a vibrant undergraduate math club, and it plays host to an annual high-school mathematics competition that draws students from across the state. How to Apply
