The doctoral student's thesis work will be conducted within the framework of the subject of child and youth studies. Child and youth studies is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary main field where the lives of children and young people are studied, with common denominators around upbringing, living conditions and social interaction. Theoretically and methodologically, knowledge is drawn from disciplines from the entire field of humanities and social sciences. Children's and young people's own perspectives on their experiences are a central interest within the main field, another is the cultural aspects that surround children's and young people's everyday lives, where critical perspectives are placed on how childhood and youth are formulated and what consequences this has. Various social arenas are studied, such as family, school and other social institutions, as well as children and young people in the media, in leisure time and in civil society. Children's experiences and perspectives on the practice of after-school centers are also central to the subject. Eligibility requirements
