About the FHSE
The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) at the University of Luxembourg brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences. People from across 20 disciplines are working within the Faculty. Along with the disciplinary approach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed. The faculty’s research and teaching focuses on social, economic, political and educational issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society.
The candidate will join the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) and will be a part of the Luxembourg Centre for Educational Testing (LUCET), a dynamic team of researchers working on different aspects of the educational system of Luxembourg from a multidisciplinary perspective. The candidate will contribute to the Educational/ to the Social Science Research of the Faculty.
Your role
Work on the National educational report for Luxembourg (“Bildungsbericht”) and analyze data coming from educational stakeholders within the educational field in Luxembourg for the educational report
Public outreach activities, e.g. transfer of educational research findings from the National educational report to a broader public
Develop research projects in the educational domain; e.g. reviews, empirical/qualitative data collections
Participate in educational policy-relevant analyses and disseminate findings to stakeholders
Collaborate on other educational science projects of LUCET in addition to the work on the education report
Contribute to the missions of the LUCET
Publish research outcomes in appropriate journals of international standing and apply for competitive funding to support her research
Attend and present research findings and papers at international academic conferences, thus contributing to the external visibility of the Research Unit, the Faculty, and the University
Research experience, intercultural and inter-institutional awareness as well as a spirit of team-work are prerequisites:PhD in educational sciences, social sciences or equivalent
Strong knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods
Experience in applied social science statistics is an asset
Capacity to work to with interdisciplinary collaborative teams
Capacity to work with public stakeholders in the educational field; e.g. ministries, administration
Strong ability to communicate research findings to a broader public
