Hi all,

SCERN (the Science Communication Education Research Network), which has formed originally as an NSF-funded RCN UBE program, is a group of DBERs and science communication researchers and practitioners who are working on improving science communication education for undergraduate science students. Many folks from SABER attended our spring 2025 talk series, so we wanted to provide an invitation to our fall 2025 talk series! Please see attached flyer for more information including RSVP information, and feel free to send this along to your networks who may be interested.

October 9 – Elizabeth (Liz) Bailey, BYU, “Beyond One Lens: Integrating Evidence, Values, and Indigenous Ways of Knowing in Science Communication”

Thursday, November 13, at 1pm PT / 2pm MT / 3pm CT / 4pm ET. – Meara Faw, CSU, “Keeping your Cool: Navigating Difficult Conversations in Interpersonal Relationships”

The speaker is Meara Faw from Colorado State University, a communication researcher who will be speaking. We hope to see you there via zoom!
If you didn't RSVP and receive a calendar invite earlier, here's the zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/93426881567

Thanks,

Nicole Kelp and the SCERN co-PI team (Liz Barnes, Heather Bergan-Roller, Sarah Eddy, Erin Schaefer)
