Dear IGPME members,
We can look back to a successful and stimulating 47th PME conference in
Auckland.
For those who could not attend the conference or the online Annual
General Meeting, we hereby want to inform you about the results of the
elections, and inform you about the forthcoming PME48 conference.
President-elect
There were two candidates: Oh Ham Kwon (Seoul National University,
Korea) and Richard Barwell (University of Ottawa, Canada).
The election outcome indicated that Oh Nam Kwon was elected by a clear
majority. Oh Nam has already started to act as president-elect and will
take her position as president of IGPME at the forthcoming PME
conference in 2025.
Trustees
Four new trustees (i.e., members of the International Committee) were
elected: Farzaneh Sadaati (Chile), Heather Lynn Johnson (USA), Heidi
Krzywacki (Finland), and Ofer Marmur (New Zealand).
We thank these new trustees for their engagement, and also the other
candidates who stood for election.
PME48
The Local Organizing Committee of the 48th Conference of the
International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education is
pleased to invite you to attend the conference to be held in Santiago,
Chile, from July 28 to August 2, 2025.

Important information
Teams of researchers are invited to submit proposals for Research Forums
until December 1st, 2024. Details about what Research Forums are and
what should be included in a proposal can be found in the IGPME website
here. Proposals should be sent by email to pm...@cmm.uchile.cl.
The submission of Research Reports, Publication Reports, Oral
Communications, Poster Presentations, Colloquia, Working Groups, and
Seminars will be opened with the publication of the First Announcement,
once the official conference website is up.
Early career researchers who have limited access to expert advice and
who would like to receive guidance from more experienced PME researchers
may apply for pre-submission support before December 1st, 2024. Check
the guidelines in the IGPME website here.
