PHILOSOPHY AND MATHEMATICS OF SITUATED AGENCY (PaMoSA 26)

International Conference
University of Oulu, Finland | June 22–24, 2026

Following the success of its inaugural edition in 2023, PaMoSA returns for its second installment, an international meeting bringing together leading and emerging scholars to explore situated cognition at the intersection of philosophy of mind, cognitive science, and robotics.

PaMoSA 26 takes place in Oulu, at the edge of the polar circle, offering participants the unique opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary exchange amid the striking landscapes of Midsummer Finland—white nights, kayaking, and the clearest air in the EU!

The conference features outstanding keynote speakers, internationally renowned for their significant contributions to the study of agency, cognition, and formal methods. Their talks will set the stage for in-depth discussion and forward-looking debate.

PaMoSA aims to further consolidate itself as a vibrant international platform for researchers on situated cognition across disciplines.

Keynote Speakers:

  • Emanuela Del Dottore (University of Southern Denmark)
  • Tom Froese (Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology)
  • Daniel D. Hutto (University of Wollongong)
  • David Kirsh (UC San Diego)
  • Steven M. LaValle (University of Oulu)
  • J. Kevin O’Regan (CNRS & Université Paris-Descartes)
