Dear colleagues,

Happy New Year. We hope that you have enjoyed peaceful time with family and friends over the past weeks, and that your 2026 is off to a good start.

We invite you to join us for our first JRME Talks of the year! With these talks, we hope to build upon past Talks, nurturing an intellectual community and promoting excellent research. Past Talks are now available online in NCTM’s webinar library (search for JRME Talks).

As you may recall if you have been able to join in the past, JRME Talks is a monthly series of short online talks by authors of forthcoming (already accepted) JRME articles in which authors share highlights of their upcoming articles in the context of their larger research agenda and intellectual concerns. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with authors and editors about research and publishing in mathematics education.

Monday, February 9, 12pm EST
Kinnari Atit and coauthors
Linking Calculus Performance to STEM Persistence for Underrepresented Students at Minority Serving Institutions

Monday, March 2, 12pm EST

Access and Sense-Making: Instructional Practices to Support Engagement
With Grade-Level Mathematics for Students With Disabilities

Additional Talks will be added for April and May soon.
We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,
Ilana Horn, Editor
Journal for Research in Mathematics Education
