Generative AI × Learning Sciences × STEM Education Professor Hsin-Yi Chang’s research group in the Program of Learning Sciences, School of Learning Informatics, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions.
Our research team is currently conducting multiple projects funded by Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), focusing on cutting-edge topics including Generative AI, Learning Sciences, STEM Education, Bilingual Education, and AI Ethics. We investigate how AI technologies can support student learning, inquiry, and knowledge construction. We warmly welcome highly motivated scholars with a passion for educational technology and learning sciences research to join us in advancing innovative research, international collaboration, and scholarly publication.

Research Projects and Responsibilities
Position 1 (One Opening)
NSTC Project:
Localizing AI-Enhanced Inquiry-Based Bilingual Science Curricula and Exploring Factors for Optimized Educational Impact
This project is entering its third year and has accumulated a rich and valuable research database covering topics such as Generative AI, scientific inquiry, bilingual science education, and learning analytics. The project offers excellent opportunities for postdoctoral researchers to engage immediately in data analysis, manuscript preparation, and scholarly publication.
Our research team also collaborates with researchers at University of California, Berkeley. The postdoctoral researcher will have opportunities to participate in international research exchanges and collaborative projects, expand international academic networks, and contribute to research with global impact.
In addition to analyzing existing datasets and publishing research findings, the postdoctoral researcher will have opportunities to develop independent research ideas aligned with project goals and participate in curriculum implementation, data collection, and dissemination of research outcomes.
This position is particularly suitable for scholars interested in educational technology, learning sciences, Generative AI, bilingual education, and STEM education at the secondary school level.
Position 2 (One Opening) NSTC Project: Developing AI Ethics and Justice-Centered Science Curricula and Investigating the Critical Role of Students’ Epistemic Framing in Shaping Their Learning Processes and Outcomes
This project is scheduled to begin on August 1, 2026. It focuses on the design and implementation of AI ethics and justice-centered science curricula in higher education and examines how students’ epistemic framing shapes their learning processes and outcomes when engaging with AI-related socio-scientific issues.
The postdoctoral researcher will participate in research design, curriculum development, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of research findings. Opportunities are also available to pursue independent research interests related to the project.
This position is particularly suitable for scholars interested in educational technology, learning sciences, Generative AI, STEM education, AI ethics, epistemic cognition, and justice-centered science education in higher education settings.

Appointment and Compensation
Expected start date: Upon completion of the hiring process, with the earliest appointment beginning August 1, 2026
Appointment is contingent upon successful interview and NSTC approval
Salary will be determined according to NTNU regulations for postdoctoral researchers
