Dear all,
The Optimisation and Logistics group at the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, The University of Adelaide, Australia, has a scholarship available for a Ph.D. student working on the project “Collaborative AI-Based Optimisation for Sustainable Resource Extraction in South Australia's Copper and Gold Mining Sector”.
This project aims to increase the productivity of South Australia's copper and gold production by developing advanced AI techniques, such as bio-inspired algorithms and machine learning methods, to address key decision-making and planning challenges.
The prospective student should have a strong background in the design and application of optimisation algorithms. To deal with stochastic aspects of the problems and algorithms, a strong mathematical knowledge is also required.
