Hello!

I am reaching out to seek your support for an important dissertation focused on enhancing learning outcomes for students in STEM disciplines. As part of my study, I aim to explore how different fonts impact reading speed and comprehension among dyslexic and non-dyslexic college students. Since you are a STEM teacher, would you be willing to share this opportunity with your students?

To conduct this research, I am looking to recruit participants from STEM undergraduate introductory programs (100-200 level courses), specifically those enrolled in disciplines such as geology, environmental science, statistics/mathematics. I plan to recruit a total of 150 students (75 dyslexic and 75 non-dyslexic), with 30 participants from each degree type. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in disseminating information about this study to your students. I will provide you with the necessary materials to share with your classes, including a brief overview of the study and details about participant eligibility. The survey will be available in September and October 2025. Students will be eligible to win one of 10, $10 Amazon gift cards in a raffle upon completion.

Thank you for considering this request. Your involvement would greatly enhance the relevance and impact of this research. If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me.

Caterina
