Summer@BSME is a six-week summer program in Budapest, Hungary, designed for undergraduates, recent graduates, and in-service teachers interested in the learning and teaching of secondary mathematics. Participants take a variety of courses in mathematics education and complete a week-long field experience. Come experience the Hungarian pedagogy based on guided discovery—which emphasizes problem solving, creativity, and communication—as well as the rich and vibrant culture of Hungary. Now offering graduate credits as well as undergraduate credits! Learn more about credits here

BSME is for those interested in the learning and teaching of secondary mathematics. We welcome undergraduate, recent graduates, and in-service teachers. 

Summer@BSME has two academic components: 

    1. courses in mathematics education and 

    1. field experience at a mathematics camp for secondary students. 


    Our participants learn about Hungarian pedagogy in their course work; in the field experience, they explore how the methods learned in the courses are put into practice. 


    BSME participants can earn either undergraduate credit or graduate credit. Learn more about BSME credits on our website.
