That's a great initiative. Start collecting ideas and post them on this group. And people please put up ideas and quotes.

To divide a cube into two other cubes, a fourth power or in general
any power whatever into two powers of the same denomination above the
second is impossible, and I have assuredly found an admirable proof of
this, but the margin is too narrow to contain it.

A Mathematician is a machine for turning coffee into theorems.

Perfect numbers like perfect men are very rare.

Mathematicians are born, not made.

Say what you know, do what you must, come what may.

It is easier to square a circle than to get round a mathematician." -- de Morgan

2 is not equal to 3 - not even for very large values of 2.

Variables won't, constants aren't.

“An engineer thinks that his equations are an approximation to
reality. A physicist thinks reality is an approximation to his
equations. A mathematician doesn't care. “

“There are three kinds of mathematicians; those who can count and
those who can't.”

“Relations between pure and applied mathematicians are based on trust
and understanding. Namely, pure mathematicians do not trust applied
mathematicians, and applied mathematicians do not understand pure
mathematicians.”

"Old mathematicians never die; they just pass into another field."
, they just tend to infinity."
they just lose some of their functions”
they just reduce to lowest terms.”
they just disintegrate.”
they just go off on a tangent.”
they just get disarrayed.”
they just lose their identities.
they just tend to zero.”“ they just become angles.”
they just become irrational.”
their second derivative goes to zero.”
their systems just become unsolvable.”

Try to search for short quotes. You know, long quotes won't adjust well on t-shirts. Anways, I like these two quotes :

You know we all became mathematicians for the same reason: we were
     lazy

Mathematicians are born, not made.

nice work ppl...specially DJ.
design is good but can we replace 3 by pi and the dialogs as;
'pi' says "be real"
'i' says "be rational"
this is very common photo on net.so i prefer to go by one of the quote.
ya and send one copy to mataks also..

nice designs...but they are too complicated to be printed on t-shirts.
T-shirts require simple and solid designs, with least
complications...because normal screen printing has it's own
limitations of color and detail. The other processes for more
complicated designs

Great work Swati. Now this is a good one. We are in the right direction. I personally like it. And yes, the logo needs to be scaled down. Let us hear what others have to say and we can proceed further.

Let us finalize a quote before tonight and the final design before tommorow. We have less time coz then the design has to be approved by M.Techs/ RS and the money collection and delivering t-shirts. It all takes tie and it is important everything is finalised today.

So start pouring in GOOD ideas !!

we can have a rubics cube(3 sides visible in 3 colors) with some mathematical symbols  like +,-,x,%,pi etc on each or some of the blocks

@ rachit

i agree. we can be lot innovative with the designs. But don't forget the majority of the guys in our dept are M.Techs and RS. I'm dead sure they'll never approve anything like that.

Next year we may get t-shirts just for the integrated batch !!

i like the following quotes
“Except in mathematics, the shortest distance between point A and
point B is seldom a straight line"
"God made the Integers, all the rest is the work of mathematicians"
"Four wrongs squared, minus two wrongs to the fourth power, divided by
THIS formula, do make a right."and we can write any complicated
formula in place of 'THIS'...

i hope this quote is fine. If not please suggest something else. And remember we don't have much time with us now. We'll have to finalize things very soon.

So please hurry up...and remember, no one design can please everyone. We have come up with many designs. let us finalize one.
