sir if we are given span that is plane then we have to find 2vectors in R^3 and they have to be linearly independent .so we get so many independent vectors .Are they considered as basis for that plane span?

for example:
The collection { i+j, j+k} is not a basis for R 3. Although it is linearly independent, it does not span all of R 3. For example, there exists no linear combination of i + j and j + k that equals i + j + k.
