Title:
The expansion problem and its ramifications

Abstract: 
The expansion problem asks if a given mathematical structure can be expanded by adding to it a fixed number of additional relations in such way that the expanded structure captures in some precise way every other such expansion. The series of lectures will survey this problems as it shows up in different areas of mathematics such as Logic, Topological Dynamics and Ergodic Theory.
