one of the very important tools in mathematics is MathSciNet. It is a
database of all the articles ever published in mathematics.
When you are in Campus then you have free access to it. Just try it at
http://www.ams.org/mathscinet/
Type the name of your professor and you will find what they have
published (if any). On the right side there is an item called "Author
Profile". There you will find a lot of interesting data, including the
Mathematics Genealogy Project
which can tell you the academic heritage of your professors.
In MathSciNet you can search for any topic, any person who has ever
published in mathematics, books, universities, etc.
Give it a try, it can be an unbelievable tool.
