In 9.3 # 5, can the serieses be obtained by choosing a value of t and setting f(t) equal to the series, solving for pi? That's the only way I can think of to approach this.

Yes. Just be careful if f jumps at your value of t. In that case, you
set the series equal to [f(t+)+f(t-)]/2 (which is what the Fourier
Convergence Theorem says to do).
