I installed Xfce in Ubuntu 14.04, but the network manager icon disappeared. When I run sudo nm-applet, the icon shows. Not only the network manager but also the power manager and fcitx icon disappeared. fcitx is a Chinese input method.
I fiddled with the settings, but I think the key point was to deactivate the gnome indicators that I marked with red in the screen shot. I reckon these are gnomish programs that might indeed need the indicator-plugin. As can be seen at the top right of the screen shot, at least the network manager and the power indicator appear. Whether there is something special for bluetooth in xfce4, I don't know.
Thanks for the tip with network-manager-gnome. Strangely, the xfce4-netload plugin no longer displayed anything, so WLAN could no longer be used.As described, the applet installed. Reboot. Works.MX XFCE 23 Libretto
I had the Layer States Manager icon on screen, right next to the Layer Walk icon. It was great because I could save the Layer States for each view. Before I could save it to a Workspace, it disappeared. Now I can't find a way to bring it back.
Quite curious: The "Layer" panel up high on my display looks exactly like the one you displayed EXCEPT the is no "Layer States Manager" at the end. On the 1-line tool bar below the above, again, just like yours EXCEPT no "Layer States Manger. BUT, I clicked on the "Layer Properties Manager" side bar, and it has a "Layer States Manager" button. Not exactly where I was looking, but it works. And I would never have found it without your help getting me started. Thanks.
Hi, the network manager doesnt appear on my notification area, I can see the process is running (Im typing this from arch) and everything works fine, but I dont have the icon to create new connections or see Ip address, gateways and stuff.
Back, Ok that was very helpfull, as soon as I see the last post I realized that indeed I DONT have network manager listed on my daemons, and thats why there is no icon, and the fact that I still have Internet and stuff its because im using the old configuration (the one from the beginners guide).
Has this happened to anyone else? Sometimes when I toggle stage manager on/off there is a floating icon on my desktop. The only way to get rid of it is to restart my Mac, but sometimes it keeps happening. Reported the bug to Apple, hopefully it gets fixed soon.Currently on macOS Venture 13.0.1
the used icon set as a whole can be changed in the "icon theme" tab from "preferences"-> "customize look and feel" or if you want to keep the current theme:
You can replace the thunar icon yourself in "/usr/share/icons/..." with the one you prefer.
That's a 3D version ..... those have been out of use for quite a while now (albeit I do have a soft spot for them too). It definitely wont mix nicely with the flat or neon versions that are in use lately.
My shop manager icon shows I have a sale. When I go into my shop, there are no sales posted. I click on the orders tab, find no new orders, and the icon disappears. This occurred twice yesterday -- why might this happen?
The number by the shop manager icon isn't just for sales. Etsy also uses it to notify sellers of other things on dashboard they want us to read. Check your dashboard for any notifications and x them out if needed.
Well, my /.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc file has a ton of strange stuff, but no [Containments][20][Applets][23][Configuration][General] or even [Containments][20], so I guess that number is arbitrary. But you said that it just links to the original .desktop file, so I made a test by changing the original .desktop file (which I dragged and dropped into the task manager to make it live there), yet the program always starts with the original parameters (not the new changes). So apparently it has a copy of it stored somewhere? And it cannot be found. And is not part of that config file. I have no idea what to do at this point.
While I do like the bright blue BitWarden shield icon in my browser and on my phone, it is amazingly bright blue and its distracting me. I find that its significantly more obvious than every other addon button in my browser. And its even more obvious on my phone.
I recommend making a copy of the original BW xpi file before you proceed, then make another copy to be your working copy as the one you have install in your browser is eventually going to be overwritten.
I copied the BLUE icons to a new folder to make it easier to change just those icons. I will eventually replace the originals after the color change. I used an online site to easily adjust the color of each icon, and I turned down the contract of the white in the center of the icon with the blue surrounding it as that made the BLUE look brighter. I turned the contrast down to -5. Pick what you like. I chose a lighter teal-ish blue color for the icon color change. You have to drag and drop each .png icon file in turn into the online app, but the settings you select stay the same and then you download each changed icon to your downloads folder for example. They should retain the same names.
I then replaced just the old BLUE .png icon files in the Images folder with my new less bright icon set. If you created a new folder within the addon files folder, delete it or it will be part of the addon and likely cause a corrupt file error due to size change.
In order to rezip the addon, you have to highlight the contents of the unzipped folder (not the containing folder that is created by the unzip. After you rezip the contents, you change the .zip extension to .XPI. Double click the xpi and the addon will install in Firefox as normal.
Hey, thanks for this, it looks interesting. Do you think it would be possible to do this with the safari extension? All the other admins have a monochrome icon that match the system accent color, so the Bitwarden icon looks quite out of place. I hope they can add a mononchrome option for safari.
Since a few days, the number of logins available per site (the number on the shield icon) is black on dark grey, i.e. unreadable. This happens on Vivaldi (6.2.3105.45 on Win11). Any idea why this is so or what I could to to change it back to white-on-dark colors?
Very interesting that we seem to be entering an age where software and operation systems are following a dictatorship configuration. This is new to me, and I've been a software engineer for 26 years. I'm guessing all the offshore people have different ideas and are implementing them now. And when I say different ideas I mean they don't care and possibly don't understand.

I'd like to chime in. Would love this, too. I only want items there with which there really is the need to interact on a regular basis. Imho it would make sense to have DisplayLink show up in the system settings instead/as well.
Agree with the OP sentiment. If it helps, I've used Hidden Bar ( -bar/id1452453066?mt=12), a free app that allows you to hide multiple seldom used icons. Other similar apps are available. Works on Big Sur at the time of writing.
Agreed! This icon takes up space with next to zero function and takes p space from other more relevant icons that could be useful. Please allow the option to hide/remove it without the programme quitting.

Hi there i have been trying all evening to get the manager account software to work on my windows 10 laptop, without success. I have downloaded deleted and re installed shut down and restarted my laptop to no avail. the icon appears on my desktop for manager but once i click it it shows cpu usage for a few seconds then nothing happens.
@rsturbolad, since the purpose for asking you to install the server edition was to see what went wrong, your attempt to launch ManagerServer.exe directly suggests you might have tried to do the same thing with the desktop edition, rather than installing it correctly first.

There is a lengthy topic on this issue. It contains names of several programs which are known to cause the problems. You will need to either uninstall those programs from your computer or obtain the latest versions of those programs which are fixing the issue.
After that, I started IIS manager, and went to "Default web site". Under the "Management" group, I expect to see a "IIS Manager Permissions" icon, but it was not there. I need it to enter the user name/password, which will be used by my Visual Studio to connect to this IIS.
I have Windows 8 and my icons aren't that small. My guess would be you are using a 4K monitor. If you click on start and type dxdiag you should be able to see what resolution you are running under the display tab as shown in the screen shot below.
I pinned All Settings to the dock and it shows the Power Manager icon. On Z15 lite, the pinned icon is the gear wheel. I did happen to open PM before All Settings, once installation had completed and I was getting things ready. How do I get the gear icon?

The abbreviation can be customized via the [cq:Component]@abbreviation property. While this value can accept more than 2 characters, it is recommended to limit the abbreviation to 2 characters to avoid any visual disturbance.
