Howmuch detail would you need to see in an elevator family? The families that we have are from Otis and they are fiendishly detailed and too large for the health of the model - showing guiderails, motors and controller, etc.
@Sahay_R Hello, have you try to download elevator families from Digipara elevatorarchitect. We only show lift car and guardrails in our model just indicative only for our side as an architect consultant the important thing is the clear width and length of the lift core and size of the lift car which M&E consultant provide for us. . I thin k a lot of this is manufacturers not really understanding BIM- so they are only really impressed (and think their clients will be) if their objects are geometrically accurrate and include all the "bells & whistles". I have even seen a boiler component that included 3d dials and switches- what actual value does that add to a model???? If people just stopped and asked themselves "Who needs this info and what do they need it for?"
@bimscape - Most manufacturer content is generated from their fabrication model. So you will find details like fasteners, brackets, information which has no value in an architectural model. However, I prefer more detail - it's easier to strip information out of a manufacturer family than to add it.

Passenger 2000 to 4000 and Service 4000 to 5000 elevators all in one family. This is a parametric elevator that can have up to 10 stops. There are many paramaters that you can control like amount of stops, distance between stops, frame size, etc.
After double clicking each Asset inside my family.rfa and checking "shared parameter", then saving the asset and reloading into my family.rya file, this also successfully loads into a new revit file and the people show as expected.
As of yet this is something which I can only file as a feature request to allow for better usage. So I'll gladly forward it, as of yet this is unfortunately nothing which is directly unavoidable, due to the implementation design. We, of course, add new Assets to our library quite frequently, but only seldomly do we edit existing Assets, but in general the Asset ID's should always stay the same.

This Revit generic family represents a standard elevator door suitable for various building types, including commercial, residential, and industrial projects. The model is designed to be flexible, allowing for customization in dimensions, materials, and operational features to match specific project requirements.
I changed the component for the one you said and it turned out the subcat for black which is a positive thing, but the new family component is saying that my file path is invalid. The thing is that I always select this template for revit and it loads normally.

If you want Editable Revit Floor & Walls you are going to have to use the Add Floor / Add Wall components, as well as create Window families and the various other Family Elements if you want to keep them Revit Editable.
I know that you can extract a lot of information only based on direct shapes model, but if I want to do further interaction when I transfered my geometry from rhino to revit is impossible. For example, I want do a duct system or pipe going thru this floor, It would not be possible to make the hole in revit for those elements go thru the floor.

We have always had this family, just had to open a structural column family and change the type. I actually saved one as a 2 level family back in 2007 and have been using my own version. This is great for creating elevator families.
Yes, but then it will be scheduled and recogniced as a column, which can give coordination problems in large projects.
I am using this template and trying to schedule the top level as if it were a column...does anybody got it?
Installation:
You download a plugin installer from the Otis website. The installer itself will then download the complete program. That took 10 minutes and worked fine. I had some issues to run the software, due to the fact that I had European regional settings. The Otis developers helped me to solve this problem.
The next steps are requesting the typical elevator inputs to determine the correct elevator type and size. The floor level list is automatically taken from the Revit building . This saves time since it omits the work to enter floor to floor heights.
Summary:
Having their elevators available within Autodesk Revit is in general a big plus for elevator companies. The icon on the toolbar emphasizes Otis to the architect. I am sure some architects will love that app. Other will not because they do not want to install, update and maintain Revit plugins of different elevator companies.

Beside configuring the main elevator dimensions, door types, etc you can also select cabin designs and a lot of other options. For the floor levels, they have nicely implemented a table, where you can also define the services for front and rear. Also this application supports 2 car groups. This is what I tried.
Outputs:
2D: The system delivers 2D DWG and PDF files. The 2D drawings also reflect the 2 car group. The vertical section shows head, pit and travel. Intermediate floors, rail bracket distances, etc are not shown.
3D: The Revit BIM model is simplified and shows only a subset of the values I entered into the web page. The BIM model is a single elevator. For the car group you must add it twice into your Revit buidling model.
Summary:
The Revit family is good for the initial planning stages. Vertical stops can be customized for your concrete need and building.
There is no IFC or similar download option. If you need more or if you are using another 3D CAD program you need to contact KONE for a (more detailed) BIM model.
