welder qualification from cs to ss and vice versa

                     how a welder qualified in carbon steel can also weld stainless steel and vice versa?

my question is where in ASME sec ix it is given ?

pls clarify

hi, refer QW423 for P.No.qualification.But while welder weld CS to SS or vice versa... pls.take care about F.No.qualifications as per QW433 and QW350 for essential variables. he can weld on ss when qualified with same FNo i.e  if a welder in CS qualified with FNo 6 filler wire for GTAW, He can weld SS with same FNo,But Vice versa can't be done as deletion of purging is an essential variable

AS PER SECTION IX QW 423, IF ONE WELDER QUALIFIED IN CARBON STEEL THAT
IS P1 HE CAN WELD METALS P1 THROUGH P11, P34 AND P41 THROUGH P49. OK
STAINLESS STEEL P NO. IS P8 SO HE CAN WELD .

Mr. Vinod is right.Welder can weld CS to SS, but if he is using same F no & if he is qualified With F no 1

 he can weld with other F no without requalification.

yes you can welding on SS,IF Your welder is qualify with C.S, NOW LATEST ADDENDA OF 2011. IN ASME SEC-IX, WELDER IS QUALIFY FROM    P-N0-1 to P11,P34,P41 TO P49

PLEASE REFER TO ASME SEC-IX AS PER 2011 LATEST VERSON

 

AND ONE THING THAT P No IS CHANGE OF P91 MATERIAL BEFORE THAT THIS MATERIAL P-No is P5B, BUT NOW IS P15E

What of the other binding clauses, such as F No. etc?
