Are you asking about ASME Code qualified welding?

The short answer here CRO or HFO for ASME Code welding is "no". Section IX specifies the WPS/PQR specific testing requirements for overlay welding. If you are looking for ASME compliance, review the corrosion resistant and hard facing overlay requirements there.

You can use WPS for Overlays /Build ups which had been qualified with Butt joint.
