Dears

Your advice is highly appreciated.

The point is I got TS from contractor asking to replace A672 C0 CL22 pipe to A106Gr.B. I know that both is Carbon steel. Type235.
So dont see any reason to reject but if anybody provide smart advise I would be very grateful.

Thank you ALL

Hi,

If you are replacing A672 pipe and using A106 Grade B, then there is no issue at all as A106 is seamless pipe where as A672 is fusion welded hence A106 is preferred than A672. And A106 is suitable for high temperature service where as A672 is only suitable for moderate temperatures, so you can surely go for A106 but viceversa needs approval from engineering department to ensure safe service.

Regards
Richard
