Dear All

What should be the GTAW wire for welding grade 1 Alloy 625 ASTM SB-444 UNS N06625 with a minimum specified tensile strength of 825 MPa.

I have noticed that the usual Alloy 625 wire does not have MSTS of more than 750 MPa.

Does anyone has experience of welding ASTM SB-444 UNS N06625 Grade 1 with any other wire

example using Alloy 725 wire... special metals?

Guidance in this regard would be much appreciated.

Regards

Azam Mohd

Hi

Ref you query for the  Minimum Tensile value for the weldmetal for welding the above material.

The consumables are ER NiCrMo-3 & E NiCrMo-3 .

( Refer Section II part C , SFA5.11 Annexure for usage of consumable type for the same ).

For PQR the minimum value for Acceptance is as pe QW 153.1.(c) which states the test is acceptable if it meets the minimum reqd value of the electrode.( min 760 MPa).

I hope this will help you.

Thansk & Regards,
Mohd.Azam
