Is this thing mentioned in ASME B31.3 or not?

Dear Sir,

According to B31.3 -2020.

Clause 311.2.2 - Socket Welds (b) (2) - Weld dimensions shall not be less than shown in figures 328.5.2B and 328.5.2C.

Clause 341.4.3 (b) - Socket welds and branch connection welds that are not radiographed shall be examined by magnetic particle or liquid penetrant methods in accordance with para. 344.3 or 344.4.

Minimum gap for socket welds as per B31.3 figure 328.5.2B & 328.5.2C is 1.5 mm

But the requirement of radiography is not mentioned in 31.3. But generally 10% radiography from the client specification is required to demonstrate that you have maintained a minimum gap of 1.5 mm as specified in 31.3

So please double check your client's requirements regarding socket welds.
