Hi all,
Can any one help me to send the chart/table for the time calculations of RT using Ir192. I would like to know the time taken depends on the wall thickness & curies.

Regards,
P.Mahendran

Hi Mahendran,
What is the tipe of the chart/table? how to use the table depends on the model or manufacturer
the data normally used are:
Film speed factor in mR/h.
Density required
Distance source-film
Thickness
Source Strength

Kind regards.

very little difference between CS & SS exposures unless you get into dense materials like hastelloy. You also need to consider film type, density needed, distance from film, thickness, source strength, screen size, processing conditions ( manual / auto / chemical temperature.......)

You really need to get an exposure calculator and someone who knows what they are doing........

Hi,
The RT technician mostly will refer that table to set the timing based on the thickness & material(curie), when they shoot. Normally the density should be 2-4.

you may refer the attached file for some guidance

Exposure time (minutes) = FF*SFD2*2t/hvt*60
                                              SS (Ci)*RHM

--- Exp time(min)= SFD(CM)XSFD(CM)XFILM FACTORX2 exp(JOB THK(MM)/12.5)X60/(source strength in cix.5x100x100)
sfd   source to film distance in cm
film factor  from film manufacturer  D7-1.1  D4 -1.1 etc
n= job thk/12.5    (hvl of steel 12.5mm)
ci strength in ci (souce strength) for Ir 192  .5 R/hr

for ss exp time is 30% more than c.s exp time.(as thumb rule)
