Dear Mr.Goswami
I have a component, material ASTM A 514Gr F and made by "casting" due to complex design.
The thickness is 100mm. After casting, it has been given only a annealing treatment by the casting manufacturer ( @900 degrees ). I dont understand why it was not quenched and tempered.
The service temperature of this component is at room temp.
Now a part of this casting has broken and i want to weld it.
I have selected E309L electrode.
Kindly let me know the PREHEAT and INTERPASS Temperature for welding this 100mm thick A514 Gr F. By calculations i have got preheat temp as 125 degrees C as there is no restraint and i will be using a basic coated electrode.
Also i realise that no PWHT is required.
Kindly advise..
Regards
Prem Nautiyal
