Hello,
Is there anyone know the material differences from ASTM A105 and A216 Gr.WCB?
because, if i've seen it based on the chemical and mechanical properties, they're all the same..
Anyone can tell, when we should use A105 or A216?

Nb : It is to be used for Plug Valve Material in pipeline engineering
Any help would be apreciated,
Thankyou

Best regard,
Zihni

Dear Sir
Selection of material is only engineering scope NOT others. Selection of material is based on many parameters as service condition, MDMT, pressure required. if your engineering document has a specified material while you have equivalent one in your local market, then you should to raise concession request (CR) to your client for approval.

Hi,

A105 is forging material and A216 WCB is a casting material. I can suggest forging material is better than casting and also plug material will worn out during more operation. So you select A105.

Karthikeyan

SA 216 IS FOR CASTINGS.
SA 105 IS FOR FORGINGS.
THERE ARE SOME KIND OF ITEMS THAT DUE TO SIZE AND SHAPE CAN NOT BE FORGED.
SO THERE IS A NEED FOR A SPEC FOR CASTINGS AND FOR A SPEC FOR FORGINGS
