What is NON DESTRUCTIVE ELECTRIC TEST

Hi,

 
When i am passing through some of the ASTM materials standard, e.g A106 / A672 / A333...., i came through word NON DESTRUCTIVE ELECTRIC TEST, can any one define this What is NON DESTRUCTIVE ELECTRIC TEST, how can be differentiated from NDT & NON DESTRUCTIVE ELECTRIC TEST.

Hi,

It is an EDDY CURRENT TEST (called Non destructive electric test) to detect surface irreugalirities. Refer ASME Sec.V-article 8

Non Destructive Electric Test is curious terminolgy used by ASTM as a heading for eddy current tests in referenced specifications quoted within the referenced specifications.

There is a NDT called Eddy Current testing.

Check especially for pipes which suffices the Hydro test requirement....
