Dear Experts,

Please throw some light on the following query:

:What effect will Slope have on projection & Elevation of Nozzle during fabrication of Pressure Vessel (Slope is given as 1.5% in GA Drawing)"

MIM,
Its actually tilt of the flange face & must be in deg ( usually 0.5˚),
not in %. If tilt is excessive, the effect would have major influence
on gasket fit mainly on to the connections to be fixed on the site.
However, it can be conpensated at site, since the connection at site
will have flange not welded usually.

For horizontal vessels with slop following points may be noted.
Saddle supports will be of different height dependinggg slope.
Elevations to be marked from working point on tangent line, generally
on lower side of slope on one end of vessel.
Nozzle facesesshall be parallel to ground.
Vessel horizontal centre line shall be in slope with respect to
ground.
Nozzle projections shall be measured from point on vessel centreline
which is marked from working point.
