Hello All,

I was going through the ASME section IX-2017 edition QW-424, Please see the circled part,
My interpretation is , if we are welding(PQR) between P-1 to P-22, and qualify the procedure , then my PQR is qualified for P-1 to P-1 and P-22 to P-22 also.

Please let me know that my interpretation is correct or not ?

Dear Vanchi Sir,

My interpretation is
, if we are welding(PQR) between P-1 to P-22, and qualify the procedure , then my PQR is qualified for any metal from P-1 to any metal from P-22 .
Is this right?

Shyam

Dear Experts,
we should note that it also depends impact requirements and the respective group number.
if impact property is required, the applicable group number become part of the requirement.
if you qualify p-1 group-1 and the impact property is required, you cannot use the same procedure to weld p-1 group-2.
