If the value exceeds what are the matigations required.

Kindly advice

Thanks and Regards

Please give some details regarding below, as anyone in the Group may provide solution to you.

1. Hardness Location (Weld & HAZ)
2. Type of Hardness Test, Vicker's, Brinell or Rebound Hardness Tester.
3. PWHT cycle, soaking temperature, Time, Heating Rate & Cooling Rate.
4. Welding Heat Input
5. Maximum temperature in The Tubes(steam)
6. Any additional details which you may feel may be useful.

380HB is way out of Rectification and let's seek experts advise.

Thanks & Regards

Dear James,

Thank you for your support,

Please find the below details highlighted in red

1. Hardness Location (Weld & HAZ) = Base material, weld metal and HAZ

2. Type of Hardness Test, Vickers’s, Brinell or Rebound Hardness Tester.= Rebound Hardness Tester

3. PWHT cycle, soaking temperature, Time, Heating Rate & Cooling Rate. =

                Heating rate/temperature ---- Soak (Holding) temperature/ time ---- Cooling rate/temperature

Heating rate/ Cooling rate = 100 degree centigrade per hour

Soaking temperature =710 degree centigrade for 2 hours

4. Welding Heat Input =

This is: Time X Volts X Amps / 1000 joules X Travel Speed

Time: 60 sec/min

Volts: 12V – 14V

Amps:  98 – 175amps

Travel speed : 60 – 130 mm/min

5.  Maximum temperature in The Tubes(steam)   = 550 to 560°C

Thanks & Regards

Your PWHT temperature is little higher and too your soaking time as it is a function of Thickness

Thanks & Regards
