Dear Experts,

Kindly let me know whether FCAW can be used in SS or not and if we can use then how much percentage of CO2 gas should be .

Dear Mohit,

Yes, you can use FCAW process for stainless steel welding.
The percentage of CO2 you can use 99.995%.

Hi Mohit,

FCAW is an established welding process for Stainless Steels. Kobelco is a leading manufacturer of many varieties of quality FCAW products. Feel free to read though this attachment.

Thanks.

In fact, SS with FCAW process provides excellent finish, even ripples,  100 % radio graphic welds
due to duel shielding, good fusion line, higher efficiency -- all compared to MIG or SMAW processes.

In a sense, MIG process requires good amount of surface grinding and fully avoidable in FCAW process.
It's economical compared to other processes in the long run.

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your valuable information. My main concern is that whether doing FCAW there is possibility of formation of Chromium carbides during process with CO2 gas.
In pressure parts of SS also we can use this process.

Best Regards,
Mohit.
