Refer AWS D1.6 for stainless steel (covered in group A), D1.1 is not applicable for SS.

Hi,
Pls.refer AWS D1.6 for Structural Welding-Stainless steel. as specified in AWS D1.1 - 1.2 (4).
Pls.find below the extraction.

(4) Base metals other than carbon or low-alloy steels.
AWS D1.6, Structural Welding Code—Stainless Steel,
should be used for welding stainless steel structures. Whenever
contract documents specify AWS D1.1 for welding
stainless steel, the requirements of AWS D1.6 should apply.

Consider need built up WPS and referring 2 code for AWS DI.1 /AWS D1.6 for Combination Materials for Carbon Steel to Stainless Steel.
