Anybody  can describe the RT1.RT2.RT3.RT4 in an easy way.

Long Seam (A), Circum Seam(B), Nozzle to Flange(C) & Nozzle to Shell/DE(D) category Joint - Full Radiography for thickness above
38 mm - Carbon steels(P1)
19mm - LAS (P3)
16mm - LAS (P4)
0 mm - LAS (P5A,5B&5C)
For Stainless steel & Non-ferrous refer particular sections of Code.
 
Exception to the Above :
1. Category B & C butt welds associated with Nozzles & communicating Chambers that neither exceeds NPS 10 nor 29 mm Wall thickness
2. Category D Joint forming an Corner weld instead of LIP Butt welds.
 
RT-2
 
Category A & D Butt welds - Full Radiography
Category B&C Joint where intersects with Category A joint in Shell/DE - Spot radiography
