Dear Experts,

Can someone explain me following ASME clause regarding thickness range qualified by welder & is it OK if a welder welds 13 mm & above with 3 or more layers, he is qualified for maximum thickness ( e.g. 50mm or more )

Dear,

Yes,he can weld but remember t pass > 13mm is essential variable for
SMAW,SAW,FCAW,GMAW.

If he weld t pass > 13mm your WPS only qualified base metal T <
1.1Tpqr (see qw-403.9)

Hi everybody, somebody knows if there is a minimun in the thickness of weld metal qualified, because in the Table QW 452,1 b, there's only a maximun but not a minimun.

Thanks

As of the 99 Addenda there is no minimum qualified thickness for weldor qualification.  The minimum thickness will be that of the applicable PQR.

Remember diameter rules of QW-452.3 still apply.
