If a welder is qualified in CS - GTAW process, Is the same welder can weld SS - GTAW process with purging ?

If a welder is qualified in CS - GTAW process, Is the same welder can weld SS - GTAW process with purging ?

Yes

SS & CS filler wire comes under F No 6
Material Qualification range: P1-to P15F P34, P41-P49 if qualifies in
any one of this,
So it covers material range.
deletion of purging is a essential variable for WQT
so welder qualifies for both if qualifies in CS
This as per the Code

But it is better to set the internal standard by firm to qualify
welders for SS separately considering the practical difficulties in
Welding

Yes He can weld SS -with GTAW. But make sure you have a PQR & WPS for
SS Material.

See QW-356 and QW-404.15 for filler metal  (Same F-number, F6)

And

See QW-356 and QW-408.8 for backing gas.  (Qualification w/ backing gas qualifies only with backing gas, qualifying w/o backing gas qualifies both w/ and w/o)

Yes he could do Mr. Henning gave you good references.
Actually addition of purging is non nonessential but deletion of purging is essential variable.
