Dear Experts,

We have a client approved WPS/PQR for welding of a plate (LTCS) from SA 516 Gr. 60 to SA 516 Gr. 70, thickness is 6mm (P No.1, Group No.1 to P No.1, Group No.2).

Now we are having a welding work in LTCS Seamless pipe material specification is SA 333 Gr.6  to SA 333 Gr.6 - Dimension of the pipe is 3"NB Sch.160 (11.13mm). (P No.1, Group No.1 to P No.1, Group No.1)

Kindly advise whether the existed WPS/PQR can be used for welding of  the pipe or have to qualify a PQR with a pipe.

Thank You and Regards

P Govindan.

Hi, when Plate is qualified, it qualifies pipe and plate too.
However if there is a impact test requirement
a PQR coupon welded in 3G position will qualify your WPS for ALL position.
