Could you please advise which consumable/wire can be used for welding of this type of steel?

ER/E409Nb , generally used in automobile industry, Only GMAW/FCAW wire could be available in the market.

 

S40900 (Type 409) has been replaced by S40910, S40920, and S40930. Unless otherwise specified in the ordering information, an order specifying S40900 or Type 409 shall be satisfied by any one of S40910, S40920, or S40930 at the option of the seller. Material meeting the requirements of S40910, S40920, or S40930, may at the option of the manufacturer be certified as S40900

GTAW : ER409/ER409Nb (SFA 5.9)

SMAW : E409Nb (SFA 5.4)

you can use E 309L for welding of  TP 409 SS and it is austenitic is better choise than ferritic filler materia

If Strengh is not criteria, austenetic filler is being used ,otherwise matching filler only

If E410 is used to weld SS410 then how are the distortion stresses in the weld addressed? (considering preheat 250DegC and post heat 350DegC X 3Hrs)

Preheat is not required and also better to maintain interpass temp less than 125 C as it is ferritic SS.
