Dear All
Quote: As per API 2B
6.2 ROUNDNESS
The out-of-roundness, that is, the difference between
the major and minor outside diameters at any point in a
length of pipe, shall not exceed 1% of the nominal diameter
or 1/4 in. maximum for wall thicknesses up to and
including 2 in. For wall thickness exceeding 2 in., the
maximum permitted deviation shall not exceed an out-of roundness
to wall thickness ratio of 1:8. For pipe exceeding
48 in. in diameter, a maximum deviation of 1/2 in. shall be
permitted provided the circumference tolerance is maintained
within ± 1/4 in.

We are rolling tubular of 72" OD and 63 mm Wtk. Our manufacturer is trying to maintain the required Circumferential and Out of Roundness tolerances as per API 2B. I'm very much confused because sometimes they are offering tolerances as per the second last sentence of above quote and sometimes as per the last one.
Can you please advice, to which clause I'v to adhere, so that I'll not get any problem during fit up and welding.
Thanks and Regards
Harikrishnan
