Hi dear all

I have a question & I will be grateful if someone can help me.

I want to make a stamp for approving documents (like WPS, PQR, WQT &
Training Certificates), but recently Iran's ANB (IWREC) forbidden
using any stamp containing IIW name or logo and with any word like
IWE, IWS,IWT, IWP and IWIP by IIW diploma holders. I asked them about
this & they tolled using stamps is allowed only for persons who have
EWF (or EWS, I couldn’t get that) certificate.

I have an IWE diploma . Now I want to know is it right with IIW rules
& if the answer is yes how can I get that.

The stamp that I want to make is as below:

My name
International Welding Engineer
my diploma No.

Dear RMJIran
You can contact directly IIW for clarification along with details of your case, you may also refer below correspondence which I had in the past with TWI for the same, they says for employment purpose both are same.
As far as I understood After unification of IIW and EWF in 1996 the basic EWF courses were further developed, particularly w.r.t. theory content so that a lifetime Diploma can be awarded. However EWF continues to run various other certification course which may need to be renewed.
If you get any reply from IIW/EWF, please don't forget to post here.

Thanks

Dear Sir

Thanks fro your email.

I can confirm:

1. Diplomas are valid for life and they are treated equally from both the standard and alternative routes.

2. IIW and EWF diplomas are also equal from the point of view of employment.

I hope this helps

Hi Tim,

Hope you are having a good day.

Please can you answer the question below from Raghuram Bathula? He is asking about the Diploma course in relation to a similar IIW/EWF course run by The Indian Institute of Welding. Hopefully you are aware of this course and can give him some further information.

Many thanks,

Tracy

Yes the modules are same, in fact there are two routes, the standard route and the transition route (are both of these equally treated in the industry?)

I was told that EWF and IIW has together made new stream to offer life time diploma (IWE/IWT etc.) from year 2006. I am attaching the prospectus for your quick screening

I would like know whether both of these are equally treated in Europe for employment?
Thanks for the quick response

Dear Raghuram,

The IIW/EWF Diploma course with TWI only runs in Abington UK. I am not sure if the course offered through ANB is the same. But please take a look at the document attached to my previous email, as all the course modules are listed there and you can compare them. Further information can also be found on our website www.twitraining.com

Kind regards,

Tracy

I would like to know whether the courses offered in India thro' ANB (authorized national body) of International Institute of Welding and offered by you are same or any difference?

Best regards
Raghuram Bathula

Dear Raghuram

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the I/EWF Diploma course. Please find attached the list of course dates for 2008. The cost for each 5 day module is £1000 plus VAT and further details can be found on our website.

In order to find out which level you are eligible to attend (Specialist, Technologist or Engineer) I would be grateful if you could send me a copy of your CV. I will then pass it on to the Membership team for assessing.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards

Tracy

If you post this query to an ANB, they will forward it to IIW anyaway,
so I would suggest that you post the query to IIW directly. Note that
IWE us equivalent to EWE, and therefore the ANB in Iran cannot tell
you that your IWE is not valid in Iran, in my opinion.
