SS304 HEAT TREATMENT PROCEDURE

Dear Expert,

We looking for PWHT Procedure for material SS304.could any one can share the procedure urgently?

Pipe thickness : 10mm

Pipe OD : 1260mm

We need to do hot tapping on this pipe

Solution heat treatment follow quenching.

You also see in material spec ASTM A312 TP304.

Regarding rolling from plate with 10mm. it may not apply PWHT for this material type.

Are you referring to Base Metal heat Treatment or weld Heat Treatment, for the former case as per ASME IIA SA240 for SS plates and for the latter no Heat Treatment is required.

Normally you use a Split Tee for large dia Hot Tap and a Weldolet for dia upto to 2inch and the weld do not require PWHT.
