whether UT can be done in painted condition??

There are special probes available to suit the requirements.  Can be done with that probe.

UT of painted welds is possible, just you need to make sensitivity calibration on a block with same material and painted with same method.

But you Should take into account that,  there may be air gaps under paint which will cause missed sections

Dear Sir,

You have to study the properties of painting system applied. Demonstrate the ultrasonic wave is passing through the painting or not. If it passed through the painting without any disturbance then the procedure could be written and get approval from Level II and follow.
